The Neurotoxicity
Testing Center (NTC) is a division of NeuroScience Associates. NeuroScience
Associates (NSA) has specialized in the execution, design and analysis of
neurotoxicity studies for over 15 years. The NTC was launched in 2004 as a
full service solution to provide our clients a mechanism to screen for
neurotoxicity based on the expertise and observations of NSA, regulatory
requirements (of the FDA, EPA, ICH) and increasing consumer pressure to ensure the
safety of products prior to their introduction to the market. For execution of the study, the
NTC leverages two key enabling technologies which decrease the number of
animals required for a comprehensive analysis
by as much as 75%, then reduce
the neurohistologic processing time
by a factor of up to
40X. As a result,
the NTC delivers conclusive neurosafety results of compounds that are ready
for regulatory submission in a fast, cost effective manner. The NTC derives
it's "rules" for protocol design from accepted and published scientific
papers, journals and research. |

 Founded
in 1989 by
Dr. Robert C. Switzer,
NeuroScience Associates (NSA) has earned a reputation for providing
high-throughput neurohistology which produces unsurpassed quality of
stained sections and accelerated image analysis. These attributes have
been attained by utilizing NSA's
MultiBrain™
Technology which is unique to NSA. This state-of-the-art technology
provides the means to broaden the scope of experimental designs for brain
research. MultiBrain™ Arrays of up to 25 mice or 16 rats can be positioned
in a single MultiBrain™ Block which allows all of the brains to be
freeze-sectioned at uniform thickness and subsequently stained uniformly.
This exclusive embedding process also allows for large format brains,
including entire human brain hemispheres, to be embedded, sectioned,
stained and mounted, fully-intact.
NSA now has
three complementary divisions.
NSA Labs provides
the core neurohistology services. The Neurotoxicity
Testing Center provides turn-key neurotoxicity screening and
certification services, utilizing the expertise of Dr. Switzer in the
experimental design and the unsurpassed MultiBrain™ histology services of
NSA Labs. HistoTools™ provides distinctive
specialized tools to complement the services offered by NSA Labs, for
customers who prefer to handle the MultiBrain™ 'sheets' and perform their
own staining. |
